Cell phone poll: Do enuf of us have cell phone service to initiate somekind of conference call schedule from time to time???? It is my undestanding that many of the cell phone carriers have 'off peak free' usage packages as well as conferencing capabilities.

Do to recent arising and changing conditions i will probably be receiving a cell phone early this week. I'm wondering WHICH carrier to subscribe with. Right now it looks like Verizon. If most of the Packard regulars happen to have the same carrier to the extent that it might provide us with "IN" system conferencing then that mite influence my subscription choice.

I suppose we can indicate our carrier right here in this forum or email me privatly at Packard56V8@wmconnect.com. I'm doubting that there is any security risks in this endeavour? OR, maybe its just not a good idea??? I don't know. Its just an idea.

They sent me a Cellular One. I think it has 3 way conferencing but havn't tried that feature yet. Anyway, i have 1K ANYTIME minutes/month that roll which is more than i can ever use in probably an entire 6 months. So, if any of u want to call me or i'll call u or we can 3 way call or something just let me know.

BTW, if i can 3 way call then that means that if the other 2 i call can 3 way call too then somehow doesn't that define one of those mathematical geographic receions or something??? We could conceiveably have an infinite number of conference calls all going at the same time??? Everyone talking to everyone??? I can even take a pic with my phone and email it rite there on the spot. What will they think of next????? Maybe a watch that does not need batteries????

My Cingular service is so bad in my town and general neighborhood it is worse than tin cans and string. My 2 year contract is up in January and I'm going to Verizon.

There is a thing called Yahoo Messenger that allows you to SPEAK to other people anywhere on the internet if you have a microphone and speakers attached to your computer. I've used it to speak to people but really don't know if it can handle more than 2 parties. Best of all it's free. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
