FMF
This weekend, I tried pulling my rear wheels to check/adjust the service brakes. The cotter pin, hex nut and washer came off OK but the keyed ring (that the hub cap screws on to absolutely refused to budge. What's the secret? Is a special tool required?
mrgearhead
FMF:IF THE CAR DOESN?T DRIVE YES. A SIMPLE WHEEL PULLER IS REQUIRED. THE TOOL IS A STEEL HUB CAP THAT IS ABOUT ¼ INCH THICK WITH A 7/8 TO 1 INCH DIAMETER BOLT IN THE END. REMOVE THE COTTER PIN, NUT AND WASHER. SCREW ON THE PULLER ALL THE WAY ON JUST HAND TIGHT AND THEN SCREW IN THE BOLT UNTIL IT STARTS PUSHING ON THE AXLE. PUT A WRENCH ON THE BOLT AND IT WILL PULL THE SPINDLE OFF OF THE AXLE.
