Crusin tires.

I have a '40 Limited model 81 and I am going to be purchasing new tires soon. I drive the car quite a bit and sometimes on long trips. Can anyone suggest a good wide white tire brand? I want something that will be good on the road, good ride & durability. The current radials with wide whites look too fake for a '40's car to me. The car currently has Martin tires on it. As far as I know, they went out of business in the Sixties!

The first place I would try is Coker (www.coker.com).
2. www.universaltire.com
3. www.widewhitewalltires.com
I got ours from number 3 above and I regret not spending a little more for the Cokers. They are just manufactured better.
I'm sure there are more vendors, I just don't have more info with me. Also try looking at the last couple of pages in a Hemmings Motor News magazine.
Good luck!

Some years ago I came across a company called "Antique Auto" (I think that was the name...) that sold Kelly Springfield wide white radials. Has anybody ever tried Kelly WW ? I've used their regular tires and have found them to be very reasonably priced, normal wearing, and depending upon the model - ok to very good performers.
