seasand77
What is the process for adding power brakes to 1969 442 4-sp, with 4 wheel drums. Are there aftermarket kits, or do I need to go to nos? Is it a bolt on change?
imported_Badger Guy
You didn't say if you want power drum or power disc brakes. Heres a site that will help you out on some information you will need. www.oldsmobility.com/discbrakes.htm
InMyMerryOLDSMOBILE
Check out www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com they have complete kits starting at $1,100.00. If it where my car, and it is a 442 I would hunt all the factory components down to make it appear to be a factory option. Do not get rid of any of the orignial parts. Down the road you or the next owner may want to go back to stock. Also take into account the vacuum that you will need for the booster.
seasand77
I've heard that you can't put power brakes on this car as the cam in the 400/ 350 hp 4-speed won't allow for enough vacuum to operate. Automatic car is ok.
seasand77
I've now heard that this 400/359 hp 4-speed cam doesn't provide suffecient vacuum to operate. Automatic is ok.
