dennis passan
on a nice flat garage floor cut 4 blocks of wood to the height you would like to see the frame drop to "one block for each corner"fire protect everything, and start to heat the springs with your torch, nice and even, when the car drops onto the block, move onto the next spring and repeat, now you can actually see what it will look like lowered, if there are shock lever arm restrictions, you'll need to remove and reposition the shock lever arm to accomodate the new sitting position and travel length.i don't recommend driving on these re-tempered springs, there is a possibility that they may fail, but your doing this to find the perfect height, and by removing the springs you can bring them with you, when you go out to buy your new one's! you'll have the exact size you need in hand!
