Guest
A 49-star flag would be 1959...
palbuick
If my memory serves me right every once in awhile, Buick gave these flags away at one of the national meets, in a white cardboard box about 8 x8 " or about that size. I can't remember what year. Roberta or the old guy should know.
Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
The Old Guy
I have a couple of the flags mentioned, but I can't for the life of me remember when or where I got them. I guess they call it a senior moment, but I think I am getting "sometimers disease" .It is not as bad as Alzheimers ,but almost
BigFella
Yes it's a 50 star flag and it is in a white cardboard box. It's also a round buick tri-shield sticker on the box if that helps.
Guest John Chapman
RB40,
Thanks, the date of 1959 is correct... but my question should properly have been: '48, 49 or 50 stars?' We'd certainly want the corrrect flag to go with the vintage of the car...
The 48 Star flag ruled from 04 JUL 12 until 03 JAN 59 when it was supeceded by 49 stars (Executive Order #10798), which lasted until 21 AUG 59 when the current 50 star flag was adopted (EO 10834)...
JMC

BigFella
Hi!
I have recently obtained a American Flag in a white paper box that has the Buick Tri-Shield on it. Did Buick give these away as a promotional sales item? If so, what year did they do this in? I picked it up to display with my 70 Electra 225 when I go to cruises and shows. I just would like to have some idea of authenticity and timeframes.
Thanks!
