problem with vacuum trunk release

Guest

Recommended Posts

I just received a vacuum trunk release to install in my 67 442.

the problem is that the vacuum release won't work unless the key is in the trunk

lock.Do I need a special lock mech. to use the vacuum trunk release.

The key seems to release the tumblers in the lock so that the vacuum release works.

Need Help grin.giftmrcrc@sprynet.com

Are there any photos or drawings that are available so that I can see

how and what is needed. I have tried the lock without the key and it won't turn.

Yes, you have to have the "jointed rod". This is an extension that lets the power cylinder open the trunk from the inside, yet does not interfere with the mechanism for opening the trunk from the outside. Most power trunk kits you buy anywhere do not have this part included. They are very hard to find.

laugh.gif Well I found one and it is in and is working good.If any one comes across

one of them they had better grab it, because I had to look high & low and found

it in Oregon and it was the last one he had.
