Guest
Hello All, A buddy has agreed to go through my motor this winter. Any points on removing It? I'm sure the raditor needs to come off. Should I strip the starter and generator, and any other parts? Thanx in advance for any info, Art
29 Chandler
When we took the engine out of our 1928 we removed the trans as well. Just leave everything on it. It will be easier to get at when it is out of the car. And while the radiator is out have it flushed at a good radiator shop. Ask them to remove both tanks. Then install a radiator filter when you are done. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Guest stude8
One item that caused some trouble pulling my straight 8 was the bell house to frame mounts didn't want to clear the steering gear box easily. I would loosen the gear box from frame first and drop it down to gain clearance first. The big engines don't move easily on a hook, they are the biggest clock pendulum you ever dealt with and want to hang straight down all the time. I would take the carb off first, if you bump it between the engine and frame you won't have a useable one left.Stude8
