56Roadmaster
Ok guys, Last time I was looking to see if there were such designs as rotary valves, because I was trying to design some, I got as far as making a brass model. Well apparently this company has done exactly what I was intending. Visit this site it is almost unbelievable http://www.coatesengine.com They have some really good pictures of their design. Guest
Looks like they cribbed liberally from Itala and Speedwell but made them circular instead of cylindrical. The main problem with these type of valves is inadequate sealing and heat transfer which led to carbon buildup and oxidation crusting which shortened their working life.Perhaps this company has solved this.If you still want the Dyke's book email or call! I still have it. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
