Need some help...

Hello, I'm just trying to find out some more info on where I could possibly get the manual for my car, an '83 Buick Superior (Hearse). Plus I'd wlecome any educated guesses as to why all my transmission fluid leaked out or any places here in the Tampa Bay, Fl area that I could take him to for good work, one of my friends suggested rebuilding my engine and I'm not sure how much that would cost, I've got a little '87 toyota Camry wagon I'm willing to sell to help pay for repairs, I just need one of them to run well enough so that I'm not worried everytime I start it up... Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.

The mechanicals on the car would be the same as for a normal Buick vehicle of that particular body series that year. All of the things that would make it a hearse would be done after the basic vehicle was built.

There is a Professional Car Society national car club for "professional vehicles" as you have. Perhaps they might have some additional information on the vehicle and the conversion company that made it into what it is today.

Not sure about the transmission issues. Could be a cooler line leak, a deteriorated pan gasket or filler tube grommet, or a front pump lip seal. Have to get it on a rack to see what's going on first.

Enjoy!

You'll find that Buick hearses are more rare than the Cadillac/Lincoln products. The theory is that because of the lower purchase cost, the Buicks were more likely to see harder service and less pampering.

Cheers,

John
