Transmission Service

Recommended Posts

I have decided to save $450.00 by servicing my Turbo 400 automatic transmission on my '69 Olds 98. Can anyone tell me how to drop the pan, service the filter, and re-seal the O ring, Vacuum Modulator, Neutral Safety Switch, and the Output Shaft Seal?

Thanks to those who respond! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

randall

look in yellow pages in your area

transmission parts suppliers

they would have a rebulding book for the TH400

cost about 15 bucks

pick up your parts while there / works for me

bad news some seals only come in what they call Reseal Kit

one thing I learned was if front or rear seal is leaking

front or rear bushing is also worn and should be replaced

and these bushing only come from Transmission part suppliers

good luck with rebuild - buy the book <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
