Leif in Calif
Seems like a fair price... More pics in ad... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/novato-1939-mercury-town-car/7749266995.html Restored in 1988. Needs to be restored again. Needs master cylinder and new front brakes. I replace rear brakes a couple of months ago. Clutch is starting to slip. This was an early production mercury that had rare hubcaps that said Ford mercury. Google 1939 Ford mercury hubcaps. Own since 1986 picked up a lot of parts over the years. Has YOM license plates, $4000 as is for a quick sale. (415) 827-1962
7th Son
$4k doesn't sound unreasonable until you think about the cost to get this sedan on the road. Once it's running reliably again, do you do the cosmetics or just drive it, or dump in the bucks to make it presentable at some level? I think you'd be underwater just towing it home (and probably in the doghouse once your wife saw it).
