Jmbt 1950 Buick
Hi - we are looking to buy part 66 on the attached diagram. Also willing to buy an old beat up carb to get the piece. I've also attached a picture of our carb. If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
carbking
Nice picture, but there are at LEAST 2 different sizes of what you have pictured. These generic pictures can get one in trouble. You need to specify the carburetor identification number. We have both of the 2 different of which I am aware; they are available with the purchase of a rebuilding kit. Jmbt 1950 Buick
Thanks. The number on the carburetor is AAUV P 267. That is what is stamped across the bottom of the carb. If there is another number we need, I'm not sure where to find it. But I can load more pictures if that is helpful. We have one of the two pins, just not both. Jmbt 1950 Buick
Adding that the car is a 1950 Buick 43D
carbking
The AAUVB-267 is the type of carburetor, not the identification number. The identification number will be STAMPED (a recessed number, not a raised number). Remove air cleaner. Clean the upper casting (bowl cover/air horn) until it is very clean. Look straight down on the top surface, close to one of the edges. If originally a Buick carburetor, the stamped number will be in the format 7-nn (l) or 7-nnn (l). nn or nnn represents a two or three digit number. The l, if present, is a letter that represents the engineering change status. The 7 is the Stromberg code for Buick. 573-392-7378 (9-12, 1-4 Mon-Tues central time). Jmbt 1950 Buick
The number is 7-88. I've attached additional pictures. If you have a link to the correct part for sale (or another way to order), that would be great. We are trying to do the rebuild ourselves, but if we don't have luck, is that something you do as well?
