Ken Crossan
I am interested in finding out if there is a suitable moth resistant substitute for the original wool fabric in my 1941 Mercury. When we restored the car 30 years ago we installed an original LeBaron Bonney interior. The seat fabric was their number 15-28. After years of moth damage we replaced the seat covers (again with the original wool fabric) and now have worse moth damage than before. The door panels and headliner are still beautiful. I do not show the car so I would like to find a modern fabric that looked similar to the original, but would be moth resistant. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken Edited September 30, 2023 by Ken Crossan (see edit history)
marcapra
It's nearly impossible to answer this question without pics of the material. The answer is probably no. Le Barron Bonney went out of business. Now the only game in town that I know of is SMS. Here are some samples they sent me of headliner, carpet, and seat material.
