65Jayone
Is the trunklid the same on both convertible and coupe versions of the 65 Stafire? Mine has some bondo on the underside (visible when the trunk lid is open) and I have a line on a rsut-free lid from a coupe. Wanted to know before I pick it up...in case I decide to "go further" with the car or as a selling point if I go that route instead. Thanks! rocketraider
Here is something that is going to blow your mind. Although coupe and convert decklids are different, 1965 B-body Oldsmobiles use the same decklids in all series. Parts book sez:1965 J88, D88, Delta, S/fire, J/Star I Holiday Coupe, pn 45071921965 J88, D88, Delta, S/fire exc Holiday Coupe, pn 4507189Meaning- a FOUR-DOOR SEDAN decklid will work on yer convertible! and god knows there were plenty of those built.Of course, if you have a coupe decklid handy, this info don't help much <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. 66400
Interchange shows to be 65 SF and 88 converts and 4dr 88's only. I think the 2drs have a longer lid due to sloping roof line. Henry
65Jayone
Thanks for the answers, guys...there goes my decklid lead! By the way, the interchange reminds of the same problem I had a little over a decade ago when trying to source a convertible trunklid for the 1970 Cutlass convertible I had at the time...back then I thought 75 dollars was an outrageous amount to pay when I finally got the lid from a 4 door.
