This was originally a California car.  It was my wife's great grandparents car.   It has been sitting for probably 40 years.   It is now with us in Louisiana.  It seems to be in pretty good condition.  It was repainted by her father in the 60's.  Some of the paint is chipping.  I plan on giving it a good hands on wash, being very careful of the paint.  I'd like to powerwash (low pressure) the engine compartment.  Would there be any issues with that?  I'll put plastic bags over the electrical parts.

It has a transmission lock with a key.  Getting it to roll we have to push the clutch in.  Is there a trick to get it "unlocked" ?

I really haven't had time to get a good look at everything.  It got here on Sunday.  It's either a 25 or 26.  I'll try and verify this weekend when i give it a good bath.

What is the roof material?  Rubber, vinyl, leather?

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Any advice you can give I'm all ears!

The best thing to me is that it remains in the same family for so long!  How great is that?  Interesting that it has a Pierce Arrow step plate.  Is there a PA step plate on both sides?  I would lean against any power washing!  You may force water in to where it shouldn’t be…. Good luck with the rejuvenation!  I’ll be watching!  Greg

It does have it on both sides. The drivers side is pretty worn down.  What’s the significance of PA ?

We have the key for it. It just spins and the key won’t come out.  Just wasn’t sure how it exactly worked. I’ll mess more with it this weekend.

My advice of a good locksmith stands, If you damage things it will cost more. sombody on the forums just went through repairing a trans. lock with lots of photos!

I sure don’t want that!  I’ll see if I can find  pics. Thanks!
