Enclosed car trailer - How do you treat and seal top that has some surface rust?

Recommended Posts

I had occasion to look down upon my fairly old enclosed car trailer, and the top needs some attention.  It's started some surface rust, no leaks but need to do something to the top.

Anyone with experience in coating the top of such a trailer?  Is there something that can go over rust or does it need to be sanded down? I'd guess the answer is the latter but again, anyone with experience?

Thanks for any input....dc

It depends on the construction of your roof.

Is it segmented & crimped together ?

Is it one piece ?

Were the roof seams originally treated

to prevent leaks ?

if you aren’t up to evaluating & making

necessary repairs - check to see if

there are qualified mobile home

folks in your area who can do the

necessary inspection & maintenance.
