1930 OAKLAND COUPE PROGRESS

Hi everyone, we are making progress on the Oakland. We replaced the old and tired running boards with new wood and rubber. The outside aluminum strips were cleaned and polished just enough to keep it that old look. Underneath the aluminum, the metal strips needed to be replaced so we installed new pieces and painted them with rust armor. The wood was painted with exterior flat black with a splash of Thompson water seal mixed in together. If you use too much of the water seal, the paint takes days or a week for it to dry. Removed the seat and the tool storage compartment and found some surface rust. Sand the area really well and cleaned it up and applied metal prep. After that applied rust armor. Stay turned for more fun!
