West Peterson
My car is a 1940 Lincoln Zephyr, which has had the Ford transmission put in because the previous owner wanted a floor shifter. I love the modification. I think the release spring may have busted, but will know more later today (if I can gain access to the access cover). Is this a difficult thing to replace? Do I need to send a magnet down to bottom and retrieve the broken pieces?
19tom40
I have never tried replacing the spring with the transmission in the car, so I don't know how difficult it would be. Your body would be in an awkward position and it is hard to see what you are doing through the inspection hole. I would not leave a broken spring in there as it could cause damage.
