History repeats (sort of)

Actually, I think who ever said "History doesn't repeat, it rhymes" had it right.

I've been thinking about the transitions the automobile has undergone in the last 125 years....Steam and Electric were still being sold into the 30's, and horses were still used as motive power into the 40's. I happened upon this comparison test of electric vs. gas in the early 20's...many parallels to the present period! In fairness to the "T", many of it's inconveniences are the result of Henry Ford's refusing to update things that were reasonable in 1908 but were really outside the mainstream by the early 20's. Today we'd say the T's user interface was way out of date!
