Jim Eviston
This came out of the head of a Metz engine a good friend has. Available. I realize this is not the long reach plug I learned that a Metz should have. I've seen and had ⅐" plugs by the bucket full but this one I've never seen. Another friend collected long plugs for oil pumpers but this this one has him stumped.
Terry Bond
Easy for a plug collector. It's the base for a Defiance spark plug. They are actually fairly common among collectors. Somewhat "odd" because of the heavy iron "rings" which were actually designed to assist cooling. Whether that actually worked or not is debatable but it must have been a good selling gimmick. These plugs date approximately 1930s to the 40s. They were produced for a variety of cars in different both 1/2" pipe thread and 7/8". Time to start your collection! Jim Eviston
Thanks very much! I knew someone would know what that was. I did have a plug collection. A victim of downsizing.
