38 plymouth 12v. Wiring.

Changed over to 12v. My question is  #1. Wire coming off batt. terminal of alt. goes to pos. side of amp gage. Pos. Batt cable goes to starter and neg side of amp gage ?  #2. Does fuse panel get power from neg. side of amp gage and then the fuse panel feeds all the other circuits ?

Fuse panel should always get power from the alternator side of the ammeter.

 

If the ammeter reads backwards, reverse the connections to the ammeter.
