How do you remove outer door handles on a '37 Zephyr coupe?

Try looking for a hole on the inside edge of the door, if there is one there should be a screw holding the handle on. Remove the screw and gently pry the handle off. If the car was repainted and the handle not removed before repainting, use an Exacto knife to score the paint as close to the base of the handle as you can to reduce the chance of lifting off paint.

 

If there is no hole, then the upholstery panel must be removed to remove the screw holding the handle to the lock.
