Thanks Dennis Maybe post a pic of the broken one with detailed dimensions etc. There are probably some in someone's parts stock somewhere that they don't know what they are for. Gary_Ash
Try calling Sandy Olson at Olson's Gaskets in Port Orchard, WA, 360-871-1207. He has a restored 1928 Erskine, may be able to direct you to parts. My 1928-40 Studebaker Parts Catalog doesn't cover Erskines. My 1920s to 1948 Hollander interchange book doesn't list anything for Erskine axle shafts, though it notes the ring-and-pinion carrier interchanges with Star 1922-23 and Gray 1922-26, calls it "banjo-type" rear end. About his car: https://www.olsonsgaskets.com/about/our-projects/1928-erskine-model-51/ Also, try the Erskine registry site: https://members.tripod.com/~erskine_registry/erskine.html (This site may be very old)

If at some point in the future could you please check your Hollander or studebaker parts ( if a part number ) to see if it was unique to the commander? only if you can.. Much appreciated and thanks. Gary_Ash
My 1929-40 Parts Catalog shows the part number 165670 was used on 1929-31 Commanders, right and left side - and no where else. Hollander doesn't show anything as an interchange. Sorry! Edited February 16, 2022 by Gary_Ash (see edit history)
Gary_Ash
I found a listing of Studebaker axle shafts in a book scanned by Google. Republic apparently made replacement axle shafts. At least the chart shows some dimensions.
