NTX5467
Over at www.hotrod.com (which is how I entered the MotorTrend portal), scrolling down the page reveals an article "7 Buick Muscle Cars You Should Know!". A pretty good read, ranging from the 215 aluminum V-8 of 1961 and ending with the Buick Roadmasters of the middle 1990s. In the case of the 215 V-8 cars, they tended to be somewhat underappreciated as the trend was toward larger engines, but that little 215 V-8 went on to power generations of Rover vehicles as time progressed, for example. The new-for-1964 GM Intermediate platform allowed the "large engine in a smaller body" orientation to take hold, which brought us several generations of performance luxury vehicles. NOT to forget the larger Riviera models, either! The article ends with the 1994-1996 Roadmasters. Mating a LT1 engine with the larger platform body, then enhanced with the Trailer Towing Package would get close to the desired Impala SS in general performance at a very good price. "Incognito" performance with Buick Luxury. Check it out! NTX5467 Edited January 9, 2022 by NTX5467 (see edit history)
