Swapping the leather covers on seats with original replacements from another TC?

Have any of y'all ever removed the original leather seat covers from a pair of seats and replaced them with original covers from another TC's seats? Is this easy to do without damaging the leather and stitching, or do you have to cut or break clips or other parts in the process? Wasn't sure on these cars in particular how difficult this would be, but figured there's others on here who have already been down this road and tried it, either successfully or regrettably.
