Guest
We recently bought a 71 Skylark conv w/has been painted dark green but the interior is sort of avocado. We'd like to have repainted in orig color but can't figure what that is. When we entered the paint code info we found printed in the car it showed a color called "Lime Mist" but can't believe it would have matched the Avocado. Any ideas? Centurion
The 1971 Buick Color & Trim Album shows "Lime Mist" (Code H) as a compatible exterior color with the green interior Trim No. 150. Is this the interior trim in your car? When I was in graduate school during the mid/late 1970's, a friend owned a '71 Skylark Custom 2-door hardtop in this exact color combination. It stands out in my memory as an unusual combination, but it was far more attractive than you might imagine. Remember, too, that the 1970's color palette for cars is very different from what we typically see today. Buick offered some "daring" color combinations on the A-Body cars, and some of these seem surprising today when we've grown accustomed to very conservative gray or tan interior colors. Guest
Thanks. I've heard from a couple people that it is attractive, though in a very dated 70s sort of way. But that's fine. We're going to go with it I think and put some stripes on hood and trunk. Might be very groovy!! Thanks again for the post. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
