Cokekid
I have this box which I assume is for my Overdrive. There are two wires connected to it. One wire connects to a tab marked #2 and the other is connected to a tab #3. My question is does it matter were they are connected on the coil. 19tom40
Yes it does matter. Use the color code on the wires to install them on the correct tab. Boos-Herrel has wiring diagrams on his site.
Cokekid
Tom O.D Down loaded the wiring from Boo's. I cannot use the color code on my car as both wires are red, From what I see on the wiring diagram, If I am facing the car one wire from #2 goes to the left condenser and #3 to the right. Hope this is correct.
19tom40
I misunderstood your original post, I did not understand that you were referencing the wires from the overdrive relay to the ignition coil. The way you want to connect them is the way that the wiring diagram shows. As far as overdrive operation, it would not matter which wire goes to the left coil or the right coil. When the kickdown switch is activated, the relay picks and shorts out both coil wires to ground until the overdrive solenoid drops out.
Cokekid
I down loaded the wiring diagram. All the wires are now connected. Thanks.
