Delco distributor, dual point , 10.23.22 date code, I.D. # 5210 x

Mystery Delco unit. What does it fit ? Delco number 5210 x. Breaker cam is missing so I don't know how many cyl's.

The lower housing has a secondary drive, oil pump perhaps ?

Does the x suffix possibly indicate dual point ?

Hi Greg,

5210 is a 8 cyl. distributor with two breaker points and 8 lobe cam.

It fits the following cars:

 

1920-22 Oldsmobile 45-B

1922 Oldsmobile 46

1922-23 Oldsmobile 47 "Light Eight"

Hi Greg,

Your distributor actually came off a 1922-23 Oldsmobile 47. All 1920-23 8 cyl. Olds used the same distributor (5210) but two different mounting brackets were in use. On 1920-22 Olds models 45-B and 46 the distributor was mounted on the generator, On 1922-23 models 47 the distributor was no longer attached to the generator.

I assume the x suffix indicates that the distributor was used on a model 47 Olds.

All 5210 distributors had 8 lobe cams with two points connected in parllel opening simultaneously (only one coil used).

Great you can pin it down exactly, thanks. I expect pretty low demand for these things seeing as how it fits a very limited group of survivors. Any idea of a fair price to list it at ? I don't see myself ever needing it.
