6T-FinSeeker
For sale on Craigslist: 1979 Lincoln Versailles 4-door Sedan in Santa Ana, CA - $4,950 - Call or text Alex: 714 514 25 three nine Link: https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/santa-ana-1979-lincoln-versailles/7310701022.html Seller's Description: 1979 Lincoln Versailles 4-door Sedan condition: good cylinders: 8 cylinders transmission: automatic odometer: 97,000 title status: clean This was Lincoln's answer to the Cadillac Seville. I've owned both a Seville and this Versailles, and I personally prefer the Lincoln - it's far more luxurious inside and drives nicer. This two-tone aqua Versailles has original paint and vinyl top - and the paint and top are showing some wear. There is a small scuff on the passenger-side rear wheel opening, and a minor crease in the right rear door. Otherwise, the body is in good shape and does not have rust. The car has just over 97,000 miles on the original 302 V8. The engine makes a slight rattle or knock for a few seconds after start-up when cold, but then the noise goes away. It drives great. I spent about $4,800 in repairs in the past year getting this car roadworthy again (I have receipts), after having sat in a friend's carport for a number of years. Everything works except for the radio (sound is 'fuzzy') and heater (heater core leaks so was bypassed). Air conditioning blows freezing cold. Power windows, seats, locks, antenna and trunk release all work too. The interior is in excellent condition and aqua leather is as soft and supple as new. I acquired this car from a couple I know, who owned it since 1998. The husband had cancer for a number of years and the car just sat in their carport for about six years without being driven. I told them I would get it roadworthy and then pass it along to another caretaker, so that's why I'm selling the car. I will pull the ad once the car is sold, so if you are reading this, it's still available. Text is best, but you can call and leave a voicemail if you prefer. Guest
I could never get beyond the Granada comparisons with this body style. Much like the Cadillac Cimarron and it's Chevrolet Cavalier counterpart. The sad death wallows of two once great makes.
