Roadster90
I was just reading a Reatta reveiw in Automobile Magazine, February 1988 issue that I purchased on eBay. On page 89 there is this statement: "An engine governor holds top speed to a steady 125 mph". Is there a governor on a '88?
2seater
It's not really a governor, (which controls engine speed) but is called a speed limiter and it is part of the programming in the stock PROM. It can be removed from the prom if desired.
Roadster90
Interesting - Thanks Hal. I really did not think that the 3800 / tranny combo was that strong in the high end. I like your pic - did you ever get your manifold problem worked out ?
Guest Greg Ross
Speedo maxes out at 124 mph-that's it, that's the limit.Did see 119 on mine one time/ briefly last year when I put on the new set of michelins.Saw 124 when it was on the Chassis Dyno in Baton Rouge andsee 124 all the time now, waiting for Dakota Digital to ship me their new and improved speedo calibrator. Since the Tranny swap the input vs the output has been out of wack. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
