Guest
There's a 1977 Cutlass S for sale locally that supposedly has less than 100 miles on it and has been garaged for the last 25 years. The only thing the seller says has been done to it is change the battery and tires, periodically run the engine but not drive it.They're asking $8,000 OBO for it. What's your thoughts?I haven't yet seen it.
Smartin
Too much according to the price guide...http://www.vmrintl.com/cctm/coll_frame.htmThe highest value of a Cutlass in that year was the 442 at $5725. That's a #1 Condition car. This Cutlass S better be one hell of a car.
rocketraider
Price guides are always subjective and generally full of crap. If this car's mileage belies its actual condition, yes, it's worth the asking price.
Smartin
Worth is defined by the price someone is willing to pay for it. Yes, I agree the price guides can be way off. But I don't think there is a real market out there for a 77 Cutlass S. I know I can find another car that I would enjoy more for $8,000. But that's just my opinion. You'd be hard pressed to find a collector to pay that much to add it to their collection...that's all that car is...a collection piece. Just my humble opinion.
