(craigslist.org) A great original example of a 54 Ford. Automatic (Fordomatic) transmission works great and engine runs great. The 239 ci V8 (first year for the overhead valve V8 for Ford) was rebuilt before we bought it. Brakes were re-done including master cylinder. I replaced the water pump, the heat valve, coil, plugs, points, battery, starter solenoid, starter solenoid cables, exhaust from the manifold back with new muffler. Cleaned and repainted the thermostat housing and installed new thermostat. New intake thermostat hose, fuel hose, new radiator hoses, new heater hoses and valve, belt for water pump. Dropped transmission pan, changed oil, correct Type F oil used. Lights all work- headlamps, brakes and turn signals. This car is a driver and has been registered, insured and garaged. The interior is the original fabric. Windows work great- roll up and down very easily. This is about the best car you will find for a 54 Ford starting out as an original functional driver. Its like a time warp just to sit in it.The Crestline series is a step above the Customline and two steps above the Mainline for Ford trim packages of this era. Radial tires with white wall stripe are 215/75R15. Work to plan on: May need to replace the generator bearings at some point- they make a slight noise but the generator still charges, will want to have the radiator re-cored at some point. The heat and fuel gauges don't seem to be accurate. The photos show it off better than words, but let us know if you have any questions. It is still 6-volt positive ground as original. The paint is a repaint that is in the original black color but shows some age and touch-ups. There are a few small dings in the body but it is a very straight car. You can also see a photo of the front support from underneath, and although this is a common problem area for these cars, this one is super good and not rusted.
