That would be a 1942 with the BH in the number.

If I may add to that Dan, the 1942 BH series was the top of the line Special Deluxe. The '42 Master Deluxe was BG.

the reason i ask is i have the original reciept for my parents first new car. my dad could never remember for sure whether it was a 41 or 42. he only had it a few months. 42's were quite scarce in civilian version from what i've read. thanks

near ~ I recall reading somewhere here on the forum that under the GMAC "lease" plan of that time, that if the person leasing the car was called to military service that they could return the car and terminate the lease and get most of their money back. Is that why your father only had the '42 Chevy for a short time? Just curious as I am always interested in the history of our parents involvement in "THE WAR."

no, my father sold it to buy the farm i live on. because of the war he was able to sell it for more than he had paid. my mother saved the receipt because it was their first new car, and gave it to me a few years ago.
