John_S_in_Penna
In another thread, we pointed out that with a white or light interior, the dashboard is always darker to eliminate glare. This car illustrates that point very well: The dashboard is brown when almost everything else in the interior is a pale yellow.
John_S_in_Penna
Ben, when cars were more colorful, the darker dashboard colors could be maroon, dark blue, green, dark orange, etc. Unless the interior color was light, the dashboard colors usually matched the color of the door panels; but in my 1973 Cadillac color and upholstery album, Cadillac offered exceptions: Some people might choose the color to be an extension of the hood color, though always a medium or darker hue. John_S_in_Penna
Wow, that seems like a low price for a good car. The 1981 Cadillacs had the notorious V8-6-4 engine, but I understand that it could be easily modified to run constantly on 8 cylinders. So someone got a good deal, I think.
