Reicholzheimer
My fuel oil heater in my house had a small metal esso tag on it. Was the only small Esso tag I ever seen which came from the Fuel Oil delivery man.

Guest
The two holes in the top look like they were made to facilitate a handle, or perhaps a mount position for a round glass lamp. At 24 inches wide it's certainly large enough to be part of a gas pump. I just can't recall ESSO using green on any of their early pumps. I could be wrong. thehandleman
Thanks Gregg, I cannot find anything on it like it is,will keep searching I even looked for the othe guys post about a fuel oil heater could not find a unit looked even close to that either it was with all old car parts and gas memoriblila auction
Reicholzheimer
I can only identify the Esso tag. It looks the same that was on my unit. Aluminum plate screen printed about 3 inches long. I have never seen another like it. It just happened to be on my heater in the basement. Probably the reason it was in the auction was because of the Esso Tag only. Could have been a fuel delivery truck or and or something service by the Esso dealer.

dustycrusty
Two guesses: A guard for the top of a pair of Esso propane tanks A cover over the endless cloth towel roll in the station restroom
thehandleman
My guess would be the endless cloth towel as I did not think esso sold propane but honestly I have no clue cheers
Reicholzheimer
My guess would be some kind of oil burner cover. Maybe not?
