69 vs 70 Steering Columns

Looking at putting a full console in my 69 Riv and wondered if the 1970 tilt console column would work in the 69 or did GM change them with the engine upgrade? I found a 69 tilt console column but it needs major work at the bottom end.

I am positive they are the same. A couple of years ago I was to purchase a complete bucket seat/center console setup from a 69 Riv to put into my 70 and everything would have worked including the column. While I was waiting for the guy to find the shifter cable and associated parts he decided to take the quick buck and sell it to someone else who didn't care about those pieces. How bout that for dibs!
