dcaddick
I started working on this car 8 years ago. Bought it disassembled and hoped everything was there. I am working on the 303 engine cooling system. I can not find a diagram that shows the correct heater hose routing. The heater core when mounted to the firewall has a bracket that holds the heater shell. My fire wall has a hole for a fan motor. What does this look like and where can I find one? And how is it held in place?
The 55er
Heater hose routing: Heater control valve bottom outlet has a short hose that connects to the metal tubing that runs along the top of the driver side valve cover up to the engine water pump. The heater control valve side outlet hose goes along the firewall and turns downward to the heater core bottom connection. The heater core top connection hose runs all the way up to the passenger side timing cover near the water pump, this long hose is attached to the inner fender sheet metal. I've shown a picture from an Oldsmobile parts book showing the ventilation system ductwork for 1949 Olds 76 & 88 models. Check Ebay for 6 volt fan motors. I hope this info is of some help to you. dcaddick
Thank you @The 55er. I have this fan assembly. I found the motor but don't have the plate it mounts to, or the fan blades, in the firewall. This is the fan that runs the defrost.
