filthbomb
recently purchased a 9 passenger 1956 pontiac wagon, it has the 1/3 split second seat for access to the rear ...however here is my quandary,... after setting up the 3rd seat rear seating area there is no cushion nor a place to sit in a normal upright position, ( usually a third seat faces rear ) this one seems to face forward? but where you would normally have your legs is the hump for the rear axel, i cant see any other way to set up the rear deck to allow people to sit in a normal configuration. for the life of me i cant see that a manufacturer would assemble such a thing .....anyone have any experience with this ? ...thanks Edited November 18, 2019 by filthbomb Insert pictures (see edit history)
PONTIAC1953
pontiac wagons of this era are either 6 passenger 2 seat wagons, or 8 passenger 3 seat wagons, not referred to as a 9 passenger wagon, and the third seat did face forward. PONTIAC1953
Although this image is from my copy of the 1954 Pontiac showroom album, the design of the three seat wagon seating is identical.
