Guest
I just finished the installation of a 2-speed electric wiper motor conversion on my '39 Special and wanted to let anyone who is considering a change know that the motor kit from Newport Engineering is first class. The motor bolted right in, as advertised, without the slightest problem. I didn't have to make any "park" or sweep adjustments either....everything was pre-set at the factory and worked fine out of the box. Amazing! Guest
Hey Old Guy,
Newport has a number of distributors, I like to deal with parrautomotive.com They're nice people with fast service and they list a 37-38BOP unit that should fit the bill. Guest
This will amaze you, I don't want electric wipers. I rebuilt my vacuum and they run great. I like the old feel and sound of the vacuum.
------------------
buickfam@aol.com
Life long Buick Fan.
1965 Skylark H/T
1965 Gran Sport Convertible
1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.
"Fan of anything that moves human beings"
The Old Guy
If I still had the straight 8 in my 37 ,I would run the vacuum wipers, but the 455 I installed does not have a vacuum booster on the fuel pump, and under acceleration I lose the wipers completly
Guest
I installed a vacuum reserve tank from an early sixties Buick (what else?) and there is almost no drop in speed when you accelerate.
------------------
buickfam@aol.com
Life long Buick Fan.
1965 Skylark H/T
1965 Gran Sport Convertible
1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.
"Fan of anything that moves human beings"
The Old Guy
I didnt think of that. It,s a great idea ,and will save me trying to replace the vacuum unit which is on top of the AC . I,m getting too old to lay on my back under dash boards
