JB-ed Posted August 13, 2019 Share Posted August 13, 2019 What is this raised, elliptical feature that is on the top, back, left of my Splitdorf coil with the top removed. I have just replaced the original coil with the Harley replacement and for now bypassed the two wires to this feature. But what is (was) it? Layden B Posted August 14, 2019 Share Posted August 14, 2019 Safety spark gap, in case the spark plug wire or plug itself opens this will protect the high tension coil from seeing an open circuit and possibly shorting internally. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
