nzcarnerd
These two photos were taken in New Zealand in the early 1950s. That series of license plates was used 1951-56. Is there any way of telling whether the car is a six or V8? The car will have been a private import as there were no Oldsmobiles sold new in NZ post WW2. The 55er
It's a V8. The 76 series in 1950 didn't have the horizontal fender & door side trim extending back from the headlights. Also the rear fender taillight extension crown mouldings on 88's are larger with 88 on the sides, the 76 series used the plain smaller extensions like the 1949's, not really visible in the picture but that's another way to tell.
