SteveAstin
I recently bought a 327 motor (870 casting) with date code November 3, 1961. The block was decked at some point. Does the fact that this is among the first 327s make it more valuable, desirable or collectible?
62BillT
I would say a little, but not that big of a difference. The value would be on the person needing it. Someone building an Early '62. Also, I wouldn't say that your block would be very early. If it was normal production an early date would be July or August. caddyshack
The value is related to what the engine was in (standard car, corvette high performance, truck, etc.). If it is just a block, not that rare. If it is a complete higher performance Corvette engine with all manifolds and internals, then yes, it is very desirable. Add stock Fuel Injection to that date code and the value climbs even higher. Good luck with your purchase.
