Callmeal
So I recently bought a Buick Reatta 89, It's primary issue being the fuel pump was dead, but I found that the fuel gauge was not reading either so I bought a new sender unit and pump. Thing is the fuel gauge still does not work. Dug around on this site and came to the conclusion it's probably the bcm, given that my fuel gauge does not work and that my radio does not seem to function right either. Found did a test out of the manual, with the fuel pump which also suggests the bcm is bad. I've also read that the proms need to change out with those. So my question is 1) were are the proms 2) what do they do exactly? I tired googling it but found no satisfactory answer.
harry yarnell
Check the ISO-IGN fuse (#1) in the fuse panel. Right hand side of the consol. It feeds the fuel sender.
D-a-n-i-e-l
Th proms are inside the BCM. They are just chips that tell the BCM set points and maintain some vehicle info. They are under the BCM access cover.
