56 Dynaflow shift linkage

I have been trying to determine if the 56 Dynaflow shift linkage has any rubber grommets.  My parts manual shows a picture of the 55 dynaflow linkage and does not have one that I can see, but my actual linkage looks like it should have one that isn't there.

 

This location is on the drivers side of the rear retainer, and is the lever the lower shift linkage rod attaches to at the transmission.  Mine seems to have a lot of play at this location and looks like the lever's hole is significantly larger than the shift rod.
