Old26Buick
I have a 48 Ford that the left rad. hose keeps coming off the cylinder head. It will idle for 1/2 hour and no leaks, If I give it full throttle for a couple minutes the hose blows off. Have tighten the hose as much as I can and even remove 160 degree thermostat. Thanks for any help.
19tom40
With the hose off and coolant level to the top of the head outlet, run the engine and look for bubbles. You may have a blown head gasket.

19tom40
If you see large or small bubbles when you perform the test that I described, you have a blown head gasket. When you pull the head, make sure that you check for cracks around the valves and along the edges of the cylinders.
