Mrsocks
I am looking for a shiny license plate frame for my '42 ford truck. The 1942 plate is a bit wider and higher (with a larger radius on corners) than the plates currently in use in Arizona. I would prefer plain and simple but something "Fordish" might be acceptable. West Peterson
The prewar frames are adjustable, so that would be perfect for your vehicle. Also the "triple ribbed" frame was introduced around 1942, and that is the easiest to find. They are on Ebay all the time. Many, many, many people put the triple ribbed frames on their much earlier cars, and I cringe every time I see them on a perfectly restored car. It apparently is a piece of history that has gotten lost with time. This one would be correct for your truck, but the price absolutely floors me. (this is the one introduced for 1941-42, and is often times seen on much earlier cars) https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-RARE-COAST-TO-2-COAST-ART-DECO-ADJUSTABLE-LICENSE-PLATE-FRAME-Vintage/401496847993?hash=item5d7b13b679:g:6TwAAOSwWEZagP5j&vxp=mtr
