1940s Tail light lower trim?

STAYGOLD

Recommended Posts

Thought this was a '47-48 Chevy trim piece that mounts below the tail light on each side of the car... but it's a bit different.

I think I've got the right area of the vehicle for the part, just don't know what vehicle it fits.

It's tapered on each end, very slightly, believe it's the LH side piece...

Stamped stainless, not die-cast.

Any ideas?

Looks like the trim under the taillights of a '48 Chevrolet. There was originally a steel backer with mounting screws. But, something looks a bit different. All four sides would have folded over to hold the backer plate. This does no appear to have done that.

All four edges have sides, but the ends are extra long and folded over.
