I want to do a tune up on my new to me 89 TC turbo with SOHC automatic. What are the preferred parts and vender to purchase from?  Has anyone used pertonix products on their TC?   http://www.pertronix.com/   Thanks.

Man, this can be a can of worms since most of it is opinion based on personal experience/bias.

 

Ignition:

spark plugs - most people use either Champion or NGK

Plug wires - OEM, Magnecor, MSD, (any *good* aftermarket wire set)

cap/rotor - the cap only has the center button in it, so just a good quality part, use a rotor with a brass electrode

 

Depending on the parts, there's many vendors to choose from. The SOHC engine is fairly easy to find parts for.
