Guest
I wanted to rebuild my fuel pump and the best kit/price I can find is $59 shipped, on eBay. But then I found out Airtex is reproducing the original AC588 fuel pump (Airtex part number 73201) also available on eBay for $61 shipped. I really prefer to rebuild my own stuff whenever possible but holy cow, for $2 more I can get brand new? Ordered it. Of course this went the complete other direction when it came to my carb. I have a Ball & Ball D6G1. Remanufactured carb on eBay $349-$547 (which seems a little steep for a Plymouth 1 barrel carb) while the kit was only $25. Scored there. Then the ignition coil. Average cost for the firewall mount coil is a frightening $250, found a NOS in the box yesterday on eBay for $55. Winner.

cpwalter
You can buy rebuild kits with modern components to accept today's gas. Not difficult and cheaper than a new one.
